Ivonne, a 12-year-old who is battling T-cell lymphoma, wished to have a very special friend, a French Bulldog puppy. Her aunt had a French Bulldog and she yearned to have a devoted canine who could keep her company during yucky treatments and keep her smiling through the tough times. On her wish day, all the necessary food, toys and accessories were set up on the kitchen table as Ivonne anxiously awaited the big moment from upstairs. Then her mother called her down to meet her new friend. The moment Ivonne laid eyes on her 10-month-old puppy, she instantly scooped him up to play with him. There was no doubt what the black and white pup should be named – OREO! Equipped with everything she needs to keep Oreo happy and healthy, she watched with pride as he explored his new home. “This wish means everything to me. Oreo is so kind and caring. He follows me around everywhere and when he takes his naps, he lays down next to me. He’s absolutely amazing,” Ivonne said. Puppy kisses are the best medicine for Ivonne.
