Back in June 2019, Ava’s family trip ended abruptly when she started to vomit at a theme park. They took her to the ER at the suggestion of the theme park medics. Blood was taken and she was sent to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in an ambulance where she was diagnosed with AML leukemia and remained for six months. It was a long, hard road to recovery but Ava is back home in remission. Ready to roll, Ava wished for a customized golf cart so she can enjoy cruising around her very big neighborhood and go back to being the social kid that she was before cancer. She wanted to be able to relax with her family and go out for drives whenever she wants. On her wish day, she was in for a huge surprise. Her parents told her they were going to go check out a desk for her room. When they got out of the car, behind several warehouses, a garage door opened to reveal a crowd of her loved ones and her new customized ride! She couldn’t believe her eyes – it was everything she asked for and even more. With help from RD Golf Carts in Palm City, her wish came true for a 6-seater golf cart with a galaxy wrap, side and rear view mirrors, neon lights, a top cover to protect from rain, and a super sweet sound system. Her mother said, “Just seeing my daughter happy, smiling and loving and living life makes my world. Ava is truly a warrior for all she has been through and it makes us so happy to see her have so much joy.” Since her wish, Ava has enjoyed many trips around the neighborhood with friends and neighbors. She even lets her little brother ride along. She looks forward to driving it every day! Ava says her golf cart is “amazing and perfection at its finest,” while her mother adds, “Ava has always wanted a golf cart to ride around in.
