**READ** My first voice over series -- If We Kiss -- based on the book by Rachel Vail. Storyline (on back of book): If We Kiss is the story of Charlotte (Charlie to her friends), who finds herself falling for a boy who is off-limits (Kevin). Her best friend (Tess) is in love with him, and her mother and his father are dating. Still, Charlie can't help but wonder, what would happen if we kiss? So anyway, it's definitely one of the best books I've read, and I've read a lot. It's not too long and I highly recommend you read it! CHARACTERS & LINES: Charlie (Charlotte) Collins: MAJOR PART -15 years old -voice type: medium -curious, secretive, sweet, creative Charlie's lines: 1. (on the verge of tears) I -- I don't know what got into me! I promise it won't happen again! 2. Tess...I -- I need to tell you something, it's important... 3. (thoughts to herself) It doesn't even make sense! How could he just come up to me, kiss me, and leave?! ....Now he never even talks to me...ugh! 4. (giggles) Oh, you want to talk to Tess? (giggles again) Here, talk to your girlfriend! 5. (thoughts to herself) It's so crazy. Could I be in love? I mean, he's just so attractive, and the way he held me...but no, it couldn't be love then, because I'm describing it. Then what is it? (sigh) It's so horrible to feel this way...Tess is dating him, Mom's dating his dad...but... Tess: MAJOR/MEDIUM PART - 15 years old -voice type: preferably high -fun-loving, excitable, open Tess's lines: 1. I don't know, I can't explain it, Charlie. But that's a good thing. When you're really in love, you can't describe it -- and if you can, it's not love. 2. (embarrassed, but still happy) Did you REALLY have to go and make a scene while we were kissing? Oh gosh, Charlie, you're so inexperienced. 3. (bubbly) Your mom totally has F.K.G. -- Freshly Kissed Glow. 4. (furious) You...you WHAT? Charlie, and you never told me?! NEITHER of you told me! You KNOW that I wouldn't've told anyone...and now I have to find out this way?! Kevin Lazarus: MAJOR PART -15 years old -voice type: medium? -boyish, romantic at times, funny, friendly Kevin's lines: 1. (angry) What a load of crap, Dad. Why do you have to lie to us? Put on this whole charade, as if you and Elizabeth hadn't planned this, as if it hadn't already all been discussed and agreed on by the two of you -- as if we 'kids' had any say in it at all! Maybe Samantha is naïve enough to fall for that, but not me and Charlie!! 2. That's my cousin...Chuck (laughs) 3. North...East...South...West...I love you all over the map. 4. (quietly and affectionately) I mean, it wouldn't really matter...just one more time...if we... George Jacobson: MEDIUM/MINOR PART -15 years old -voice type: medium-low -affectionate, kind, sweet, hard-to-turn-down voice (lol) George's lines: 1. (laughs) Nice costume. 2. Charlie, what's the matter? 3. Listen, I don't care who kissed you first...as long as I kissed you last. Charlie's Mom (Elizabeth Collins): MEDIUM PART -40 years old -voice type: medium -kind, motherly, caring Mom's lines: 1. (referring to Charlie's kiss) So...was it George? 2. (hiding something) Um...just going out on a dinner date for work, that's all, girls. 3. Your dad and I still love eachother very much, but it just wasn't meant to be. I guess with your father, the relationship was just more out of...(embarrassed laugh to herself) lust. But with Mr. Lazarus, I can be myself...and we love each other for who we are. Kevin's Dad (Joe Lazarus): MEDIUM PART -41 years old -voice type: any -nice, cares about others, fatherly Dad's Lines: 1. (surprised & embarrassed) We were just -- uh -- putting...putting the coats away! 2. (to Charlie and her mom) So guys...every year our family goes to our lodge in Vermont over winter break...would you like to come? 3. (kind and heartfelt) Listen, Charlie, I know that I will never replace your dad, and I'm not trying to. I just want to be the best dad I can be, so if you'll let me in your life, I'd really appreciate it. I know what a nice girl you are, and I understand these circumstances, but...please think about it. Samantha Lazarus (Kevin's sister): MEDIUM/MINOR -7 years old -voice type: little girl -sweet, polite, curious Samantha's lines: 1. (Polite) It's nice to meet you, Charlie. I'm Samantha. 2. It's called the Global Kiss. Our mom used to give it to us every night before her and Dad split up. So now Kevin insists on giving it to me. EXTRAS WILL BE NEEDED! As of now there's no deadline, just when I feel I've gotten enough auditions. So PLEASE audition! Thanks!! =)
