mb video selection's video: Making Sense of Jesus BBC1 1989

@Making Sense of Jesus (BBC1, 1989)
The Reverand Donald Reeves in this BBC1 programme from 1989 takes us on a journey from the familiar nativity scene of Christmas to how the Gospels came to be written, in an attempt to, as he describes, move away from the "boredom... of these half-familiar stories". "When we were children, we could say 'yes, we believe the story of Jesus as it is'. And part of me, as a child, believes the story too. But I think as adults, we become more questioning. We want to ask more questions about Jesus Christ. Who he was, and how much we know about him." Unfortunately some sections of audio have had to be muted for copyright reasons (mainly excerpts of John Surman's "Following Behind", (c) Universal Music Group/ECM Records, used as theme music). 1 04201 09
