@Arthur/Gwen/Lancelot; El Tango De Roxanne [Merlin BBC] [S&SVC #4] (PLEASE READ)
Blog: http://misssnowfox.com/ Tumblr: http://misssnowfoxx.tumblr.com/ ----- Hey everyone! So here it is, the preview from a couple of days ago. I had a lot of fun making this and have wanted to vid this song since the dawn of time so I'm glad this contest gave me that opportunity. For this round, we were paired off with an opponent and given a category to vid to and mine was "musicals" For those of you (maybe including the judges) who do not know the movie, here is the movie plot and my video's plot. Movie plot: Christian and the duke both meet Satine, a prostitute working at the Moulin Rouge, during one of her dance numbers and that night, she confuses the two, thinking that Christian is the duke, the man she is supposed to seduce. However, thanks to this mistake, she soon starts to fall in love with Christian despite her better judgement, but has to keep their relationship secret from the duke and from everyone else. The duke grows more and more possessive over Satine and wants her only to himself until she promises him that on the opening night of her play she will sleep with him. He grows suspicious of hers and Christian's relationship so Satine is forced to sleep with him sooner to prove her loyalty, driving Christian mad with jealousy. Before they do it, however, the duke finds out about their relationship and takes it out on Satine who runs to Christian and they plan to run away together. Shortly after, she finds out that she is in fact dying of TB and is forced to stay at the Moulin Rouge and make Christian believe she doesn't love him. On opening night of the play the two reunite and Satine dies backstage in Christian's arms. My story: Gwen works as a prostitute and catches the eye of both Lancelot and Arthur at a tavern one night.Lancelot comes to her, telling her he is smitten with her and Gwen is also attracted to him but reminds him that being who she is, they can never be together. Lancelot doesn't take no for an answer however and the two begin a secret relationship. Soon after, Gwen saves Prince Arthur's life and he becomes even more enamoured with her. He confides in Lancelot, who is a friend of him and asks him to organise it so Gwen stays next to Arthur's chambers. Gwen becomes Arthur's mistress of sorts, but they are yet to sleep together, but she is always at his side and is drives Lancelot crazy to have to watch them. He's not sure if Gwen even feels for him at all. Gwen, however, is falling more and more in love with Lancelot and is forced to lead Arthur on out of fear. But he soon starts to suspect something and Gwen notices him acting differently, so she tells Lancelot that she thinks Arthur might know about them and realises she will have to sleep with him to prove her loyalty, but she assures Lancelot that it's him she loves. When Gwen sleeps with Arthur, she calls out Lancelot's name and gets scared, running out of Arthur's chambers and straight to Lancelot and Arthur sees them together going into a rage. He locks Lancelot in prison and yells at Gwen, who he then locks up too. Lancelot escapes from his cell, and thinking Arthur will execute Gwen, he breaks her out and they run away together, forcing Arthur to treat them like fugitives and have them killed on sight. The knights finally find them and while they are running Lancelot loses Gwen somehow and by the time he notices and finds her, she has been stabbed by a knight and lies dead on the ground. --- I really wanted to try and have as many similaries as I could between the movie and the show but obviously not everything was possible. I kept the love triangle intact even though it's portrayed slightly differently here, but I still kept the class divide between the men as well as Arthur's unrequited love for Gwen. Also the flash-forward scene is straight from the movie where we get several premonitions of Satine's death. I tried to keep the basic structure of the plot the same, so the sleeping together as an act of loyalty, the suspicions, the emotional scene after Satine tries to sleep with the duke etc. Hopefully fans of the film will be able to find little quirks in this vid that might make them happy :) ---- QUOTES: I'm sorry to disturb you my lady [L] What are you doing here?
