I also reeeeeally wanted to use that quote from Eelg there at the end! STORY: Lancelot comes back at the end of series 3 like usual but remembering how she promised herself to him, Gwen "leaves" Arthur and stays with Lance. In the meantime, Arthur suffers from a broken heart for about a second before realising Merlin is his soul mate. He asks Uther for his blessing to marry which he gives and he and Merlin tie the knott. Soon after, Lance works up the courage to finally ask Gwen to marry him and she accepts and they also get marred. The next part is both Lancelot and Gwen's and Merlin and Arthur's wedding night (so we go a bit back in time for the merthur one). After that we have a short bit where we see the two couples co existing happily in Camelot and they hold a tournament for the happiness of their two weddings. But soon after this the dorocha attack, like in the show. Arthur and the knights must go to defeat them without knowing if they will come back alive. Merlin and Gwen stay behind and wait anxiously for their return. The worst happens and Arthur is killed. Lancelot then sacrifices himself to save Camelot. Arthur's body is brought back home and Merlin and Gwen are heartbroken but I suppose you could take some hints that they might find solice in each other later down the line. The end!
