So a little background information about this vide first of all. It's actually about 4 years in the making. I first came across this version of "Fix You" on tumblr and it completely finished me with emotion and knew at once that I had to vid it one day. I started a merthur project with it soon after, before season 5 had even aired. When the show ended I was so upset about the ending and about the end of the show that I threw myself into the Glee fandom and stopped vidding so much Merlin for a while because it was just too painful. Cut to this year and the amazing ladies that hosted the Coinelot convention in Berlin asked me to make a video exclusively for this convention, which was a merthur convention (more information on my tumblr for how amazing it was!!!!) Merlin/Arthur are honestly my favourite ship of all time. When I first got into the Merlin fandom I was a completely different person. I'm half Polish and come from a huge Polish family, and my upbringing was not particularly liberal. I'm not proud of it in the slightest, but I did have a lot of internalised homophobia and it wasn't until I saw these two together and read the fic and found YT that it cured me of that and opened my mind. These two are really so special to me and I wanted to give the coinelot convention something special. My aim when making this video was, if something had never seen the show and didn't know about this ship and why it was so unique and special, what could I show them that would explain to them what is merthur? And this is what I came up with. It took weeks to edit, and it took 4 full days to render. It was the most emotionally exhausting and satisfying vid I've ever made and I think just because of all the aspects and the link to coinelot that it has to be my favourite thing that I've ever made.
