He also put in 31 points on 13/27 shooting, had 4 rebounds, and had 8 assists. Karl Malone was the MVP of the regular season that year, and he jokingly said he was just "borrowing it from Jordan." Jordan, however, was the one who came up with big plays down the stretch to ensure a Chicago victory. This is the game where Scottie Pippen famously tells Karl Malone, "the mailman doesn't deliver on a sunday," before Malone shoots and misses 2 free-throws at the end of the game that would have given Utah the lead.
