@Wayne Rooney Is Cleared By FA From Wrong-Doing
England captain Wayne Rooney is safe from disciplinary action after FA cleared him from any wrong doing. FA has accepted Rooney’s explanation during the inquiry in his infamous drinking case in mid November 2016. Rooney is expected to keep his captaincy a little longer under Gareth Southgate. The investigation also confirmed that the curfew had not been placed for players at the time when Rooney was caught drinking publicly after the world cup qualifying game. FA also clarified that there was no instruction for players to go to bed. It was also revealed later that the photo was taken by one of the wedding guests in public areas of the hotel and Rooney did not gate-crashed the wedding. Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany’s fate is on the line again after his latest injury setback during the clash against Crystal Palace on 19th November, 2016. His knee injury is worse than previously anticipated. This injury will force the City veteran to rest for 6 weeks for recovery. The Belgian’s contract renewal is in big question following his continuous absence from the pitch. City are also likely to miss Sergio Aguero against Burnley on 26th November 2016 due to foot injury. However, Pep Guardiola will monitor his condition closely as the City striker looked fit enough during training session ahead of the game. Moving on to Bundesliga. Leipzig maintain strong performance after defeating Freiburg 4-1 on 25th November, 2016. Quick tempo started from early half and Leipzig led as Naby Keita scored the opener only 2 minutes after kick off. Florian Niederlechner scored the leveller in 15th minute but Timo Werner’s brace in 21st and 35th minute put Leipzig on the strong side. Marcel Sabitzer completed the victory for Leipzig after netting the fourth goal in 2nd half. Leipzig now lead Bundesliga top table with 30 points and ahead of the reigning champion Bayern Munich who are 2nd with 24 points.
