my mechanics insights's video: Broken Vice Repair - Restoration

@Broken Vice Repair - Restoration
Last time when I visited my friend with the spray booth to paint the Gresel bench vice, he told me that his vice is broken. I looked at it and saw that it wasn't running as smooth as it should anymore. He took it off his bench and gave it to me to take a look at it. I asked you guys on Instagram and Facebook if you'd like to see a video of this on my second channel and you all clearly said yes. After the disassembling I've quickly found the issue, the beginning of the threads of the spindle were damaged. I removed all the burrs with the rotary grinder and used grinding compound to remove all damage on the thread and that was it to get it running again. Half way through the job I decided to go a bit further than just a repair job. I talked to my friend and we decided to give it a new paint job as well. Also a light restoration on all the parts. A bit unusual for a „my mechanics“ video are definitely all the new screws, but just for a quick job this was definitely the right decission. You'll never doing something wrong when replacing old with new screws when taking something apart and put it back together. We also discovered an until unknow function of this vice, it can rotate! That's a very cool feature of this little vise in my opinion. After all I think it turned out very well just for a quick repair job. I hope you like my work and the video.
