NOTE: this is an emulation speed comparison, although the speed itself was not measured. The emulation speed in Mario Kart Wii was limited to 100% with MSAA disabled, while in the other games the speed was not limited and MSAA was enabled (8x). Although Direct3D 11 seems to outperform OpenGL sometimes, it actually stutters a bit, and it's annoying. I recommend using Direct3D 12 if you're using Windows 10 and your hardware supports it; otherwise, OpenGL if you have a NVIDIA card and Direct3D if you have an AMD card. Note that OpenGL still outperforms Direct3D 12 in some games, depending on the settings. The Vulkan backend is not available at the moment, but it's being worked on.
