What I do know is tenor singer Paul Mattes was born 1902 and died at the age of 92 in 1994. He was a life long residence of Springfield,Ohio. Most 10" 78RPM record were ceased around or before 1955. So at this point,it could be possible this record was made around the 1930's but most likely during the 1940's. There is no information of Bassett's Recording Service having ever existed in Springfield,Ohio. The address "175 Possum Road W., Springfield, Ohio" is actually a house in a neighborhood by Shawnee High School. So apparently this was a private pressing and there may have been some sort of small studio set up in the home
