It seems that New Carlisle had several local singers that have made it big at one time or another. Most notable was Margo Smith _________________________ SPECIAL GUESTS APPEARANCES: Jesse McReynolds aka "Mandolin Man" Associated acts: Jim & Jesse, Jesse McReynolds & The Virginia Boys ________________________________________ Hillard Blankenship Jr aka Jr Blankenship was the lead guitarist for Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mtn Boys Associated acts: He played with Ralph up until 1989. Since then he played with bands such as Ralph Stanley II,Ernie Thacker and Route 23 and Sammy Adkins and The Sandy Hook Mountain Boys. Junior's style of cross picking earned him the right to record with such greats as George Jones,Vince Gill,Emmy Lou Harris, Tom T Hall,Dwight Yoakum and Bill Monroe This album was recorded at Maggard Sound Studio in Big Stone Gap,Va where Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mtn Boys recorded most of their music!
