Neilybobmojo Railfanning's video: Real Railroading: Late night grain trains on the BNSF at Kalama Washington

Another installment in the Real Railroading series, a tribute to the sometimes slower pace of railfanning. A fall evening sees the increase of unit grain trains on the BNSF Seattle Sub in Washington state. With originations from far off places in the Great Plains, these trains move ever increasing amounts of grain to the elevators and export terminals along the Columbia River and Puget Sound. Running the trains from point A to B is only the "glamorous" part of the story, so much time is spent switching, and unloading, and waiting. Take a look at what my camera sees… Floating in an endless sea of maroon BNSF covered hoppers my eye catches the classic BN green hoppers still making money and they take me back to my northwest childhood when "Cascade Green" still ruled.
