niallon's video: The Promised Land Bruce Springsteen - Cover

Full disclosure - I can't play the harmonica. I own three of them, can't play 'em. I've always wanted to though and this song is always my go-to if I pick one up and try to play it so I figured why not give it a shot? But just know, I have no idea what I'm doing :) This track was one of the first of Springsteen's I ever heard. I find it funny to look back on how I've interpreted it over the years. Initially I heard it on its own, not as part of the "Darkness On The Edge Of Town" album. As such it sounded somewhat optimistic, albeit realistic. Then once you've heard the album you realise it's something different entirely. True, it still is one of the more optimistic tracks on said album but it still tells the story of someone who could have it all but only if they "could take this moment into my hands" Yet again I found myself completely flipping my opinion of a song over the years, something that Mr Springsteen in particular seems to excel at doing.
