niceandgames's video: Wipeout 64 Nintendo 64 -- Nice and Games

@Wipeout 64 [Nintendo 64] -- Nice and Games
The original Wipeout game was developed by Psygnosis, who were acquired by Sony in 1993. So how did a Nintendo 64 exclusive Wipeout game ever get made? I don't know! Of course, I didn't actually, you know, do any research to find out. But in 1999, Psygnosis became fully absorbed into the Sony behemoth, had its name changed to SCE Studio Liverpool, and that was that. No more Wipeouts escaping to competing systems. But that just makes this game even cooler! As far as I know, it's the only Wipeout game to ever NOT appear on a Sony console. And it's a good game. At least I think so. Some might not like that 6 out of the 7 tracks in this game are mirrored and edited versions of tracks from the previous Wipeout games. But honestly, I never noticed that back when this was a current game. And even now, I still don't notice. lol They did alter the tracks enough, plus they are set in all new locations that...well...they are different enough for me! But that's not to say this game bears no resemblance to other Wipeout games. It's most similar in look to Wipeout XL / 2097. It does add some features like new weapons and split-screen multiplayer that would end up in Wipeout 3. Or Wip3out. Wipeout 64 is an odd little game in the Wipeout series, but I like it. Not sure I like this description though. It's all over the place. I really should focus. But what are these descriptions really for anyway? Oh, I know. Information. Well, this game was developed by Psygnosis and published by Midway in 1998. How about that? That's some info for ya. It's also got really solid control with the N64's analog stick. And if you prefer using the d-pad, well, you can't in this game. It's analog stick or nothing. Perhaps you could protest the exclusion of the d-pad as a control method by just sitting and staring at the screen as your vehicle remains motionless. That would show them. Alright, that's about enough of this nonsense. Thank you for watching the video! Even now I am always amazed that anyone watches these things, and I truly appreciate it!
