This is a response to edt1138's Top 3 Tuesday from May 29, 2012, featuring a question from TheGameManDan...which was...What's your 3 favorite LOOKING systems? In your collection. Etc. Great question, and I've often wanted to make a video talking about how consoles look but figured, eh, who would like it. So it was really great to have the opportunity to talk about this topic a little bit! Nonetheless, it was fun to make a response to this T3T! Now please click these links! I decided not to pick a console that I only liked in a specific color, but rather something I like the overall design and look of regardless of any special color or model. It is fun to think about the consoles/systems in your collection and how they look. The design of a console is so important because that's your first impression of the gaming experience. Seeing something that is aesthetically appealing puts you in a good frame of mind for destroying aliens. It's like an album you really like that has bad cover art. It diminishes the experience a tiny bit. That said, I generally like most consoles. Besides the ones I showed in this video, other ones I really like to look at would be the Astrocade, Atari 7800, TurboDuo...and on and on. There is one console that I actually find objectionable to look at, and that would be the original fat PlayStation 2. Not that I think the PS2 slim is that great, but the original fat one...looks like a giant heat sink to me. I find it to be overbearing and somehow arrogant, like a dictator. Now I sound like a pretentious jerk. lol Maybe I just need to spend quality time with a chunky PS2. I would have to get one first. OK, that's enough blabbing.
