Nick integrates these jazz influences within his arranging/performance style and goes beyond the norm, stretching into new territory, adapting a myriad of melodies, rhythms and textures. Based on the masterful "A Night In Tunisia" by jazz/be-bop great Dizzy Gillespie, Nick's rendition fully demonstrates the accordion's versatility as a complete solo instrument, adapting left-hand / right-hand bass and single-note interplay via counterpoint and chordal variations throughout. Nick also treats his instrument in a percussive manner as he freely taps his hands and fingers on the bellows and other parts of the accordion as if playing a drum solo. The end result creates a fascinating display of visual intrigue and accordion virtuosity.
