When I found this old pewter mug in the mud of the River Thames I was so excited, particularly as it has the name of the person who once owned it engraved on the side. The owner was James Burrows, the landlord of the Rose and Crown from 1830 - 1850 in London When I researched the name, I came up with some newspaper articles detailing a very sad death of one of the clients of James Burrows. I filled the mug with ale and toasted Mr Burrows and the man who used to drink in his pub and who drowned himself in the River Thames. See the who video here https://youtu.be/lVWBgsQYqdw
