Artist/ Band: An Orange End Album: "Baby on Board" Released: 2012(only digitally) An Orange End is a 4-piece band, formed in the early stages of 2000 with all it's members originating from Tripolis, Greece. They emerged in the music scene, back in 2007 with their promo-single "Skyline Playgrounds", which included three songs: "Urban Sights", "Murder the Lonely" and "Dance". Their breakthrough came with "Dance", which won first place in the Coca Cola Soundwave Vol.1 in 2007, whereas their video clip for "Murder the Lonely", created by Anna Xiao, won in the Radar Coke Competition. Accolades in the local media were to follow, as well as an invitation for the "ITC Festival" in Manchester/UK, a first ever for a greek anglophone band. In 2009, "An Orange End" released their debut album, "Lego", by Inner Ear Records. An indie-pop amalgam of 90's nostalgia, blended with an instinctive, almost impulsive urge to live the moment. As children do. "Lego" means "let's play" in danish. After the military service hiatus, the band enters a 3 year period of intense and continuous recording sessions, which marks the return to their home town of Tripolis. A return with a... "Baby on Board", finally released in 2012. An album that bears the sign of the band's post rock influences. A low-key melancholy is sprinkled all over the guitar riffs and the vocal aesthetic playfulness. It makes perfect sense.
