Nikki B.'s video: I m Officially A M A C Girl 2015

@I'm Officially A M.A.C Girl (2015)
My unreal M.A.C. interview & hiring experience at Beverly Hills MAC PRO. A lot of people ask people who are already working at M.A.C. "How do I get hired at M.A.C.?" and sometimes, you'll get told to apply online (yeah, I'll do that if I want to go to a hellafied group "try out"- because most of those online resumes never get seen via face...) BE SEEN when you drop off that resume. Make them remember YOU! Sometimes you'll get some shady answers like.. oh they aren't really hiring... hell, I had a girl tell me (because I came to the counter w/o makeup on, so she must have assumed I couldn't beat faces) 'it's not as easy as people think it is...' 2 days before I walked into my makeup application interview and got the job. Sometimes they'll act as if you're gunning for their job, when the truth is- at one point YOU were in our shoes- wondering HOW??? So it is not right to withhold info if you've got it and truly like seeing people work a "dream job." I was fortunate enough to have the majority of my stars align at once. Went to The Grove first and spoke with a manager, and a artist flat out said in front of the manager I LOVE your energy! Walked into the Mac Pro store that same day to drop off a resume there and the manager wasn't there so I gave it to an awesome mua and she put to the hiring manager a 'call her back' note and I got called the next day basically... I went to the Beverly Center after that interview to get some other products (because you don't shop after an interview... regardless of how much you want that color lol) and met the manager there who said she would LOVE to have me at her counter... I just let her know when am hired (because she knew i'd get it...and I did) so I can work there also. I'd LOVE to have you here.. (yessss!) If someone is beat- go ahead and tell them what they need to do to get on the team and stop being MUA haters! O_o Remember, you were once in their shoes!!! TIPS::: 1. Know make up application & sanitation procedures! 2. Know M.A.C. history, motto (RAS) All Races, All Ages, All Sexes, & social responsibility programs(Viva Glam, MAC Aids Fund, Kids Helping Kids, Back 2 MAC, & MAC Pro) 3. Get your resume together: It should reflect retail experience, willingness to learn & grow, and some makeup application experience. 4. Put on all black, beat your face to the Gawds & take your resume to the counter or a few counters of your choice and give it to the MANAGER. If the manager is not available, leave it with the "most friendly" artist and ensure you get their name... :) 5. Be prepared for an impromptu 'Why do you want to work for M.A.C?' In case they ask you on the spot. 6. Practice applying a full face of makeup in under 30 minutes. (Lashes included) 7. Until you get a call, keep practicing your art, learning the brand, and what it stands for. 8. Don't feel bad, checking on your resume if more than 2/3 weeks have passed since you've dropped it off. Worst case scenario is you have to drop it off again. 9. YOU GOT A CALL- Prepare!!!! For retail questions, down time questions, busy store questions, uncomfortable situation questions, etc... 10. Makeup interview- Be ready to move, listen to the customers needs and wants- be able to have a personal conversation, but ensure you're informing them about makeup, products & their uses. Know how to circle your conversations back to makeup, because you ARE still selling products. 10. BE CONFIDENT- I cannot stress this enough!!! They LOVE individuals who show passion for their art and a desire to grow. If you don't make it the first time- there is always another counter and another try or keep working on your skills and give it a go when you are feeling confident enough. :o) My Timeline: Nov. 9th, 2015 - Left resume w/ MUA @ MAC Pro store. Nov. 11th, 2015 -Received a call from the manager for an interview. Nov. 13th, 2015- Interviewed with the store manager & hiring manager- passed to makeup application interview. (They loved me.) Nov 15th, 2015- Makeup Application Interview passed, job offered & ACCEPTED. It basically took a week from resume drop off to job offer- which is why I said it was UNREAL. I'm not saying it was easy, because I put the effort in, did some major leg-work, face-time and major inquiring. Timing is everything!!! I hadn't applied to M.A.C. but once in 2010, and made the mistake of leaving my resume with someone who was acting real snobby... she probably shredded it. *lol* and I never applied again- figured- maybe it isn't for me... BUT look at me now. *pelvic thrust* What I am saying is if you're truly passionate about doing something, your resume will speak that, your attitude will show it and they will SEE it. Can't deny I am super stoked!!! I know- I'm such an 80's baby... lol To those M.A.C. girls(or boys) who were hating on a girl trying to get her foot in the door, how you like me now??? She in that thang with both feet! *bloop*
