Engines of Metro-North Kawasaki M8 This is all about the Kawasaki M8, the replacement to the Budd m2 as well as the m4 and m6. I think that the m8 is a fitting replacement to the budd m2, and it is just as revolutionary as the m2 was back then. It is comfortable, safe, reliable and good looking. Maybe not that last one but I do truly believe that the M8 is perfect for metro north and con dot. It should also operate on shoreline east, as a replacement for their p40's and other equipment. That was the coaches and locomotives could be used for CT rail.
