@DIY I like that lamp Floral Lampshade Stencil Tutorial
Our Watercolor Floral Wall Stencil is the perfect size for walls, floors, and decor like lampshades, coffee tables, or pillowcases. Its beautiful floral design is sure to enhance any surface you can stencil. In this tutorial we show you how to put together a unique lampshade using this floral design. What you will need for this tutorial are the following tools: Watercolor Floral Wall Stencil - https://bit.ly/2QizJN7 Repositionable Spray Adhesive - https://bit.ly/2PGiMeu Americana Acrylic Paints - https://bit.ly/30Gdplq Stencil Brush Long-Handle - https://bit.ly/2OwIAgz   Start by using Repositionable Spray Adhesive on a flat piece of cardboard. Give the adhesive 30-60 seconds to become tacky before pressing the fabric to the surface. This will keep the fabric from moving around beneath the stencil as you swirl paint onto your design. Also use Repositionable Spray Adhesive on the back of the Watercolor Floral Wall Stencil as well, being sure to give it 30-60 seconds to become tacky. Press the fabric that will become your lampshade down flat against the cardboard. Next press the stencil to the flat fabric surface so that all the stencil details are pressed firmly to the fabric surface. Combine different shades of orange Americana Acrylic Paint on a paper plate by swirling your stencil brush into the various colors. Once the colors are combined, swirl the excess paint off onto a piece of paper towel until the brush is nearly dry to the touch. With the correct amount of paint loaded into the stencil brush begin swirling color through your stencil onto the fabric. First swirl a light coat of orange through the design then begin to swirl a combination of Americana Glorious Gold acrylic paint and orange through the stencil. Shift over the fabric into the next position and press it to the surface of the cardboard. Next line the stencil up with the next position and press it to the fabric. Continue to swirl through the orange and gold blend through the stencil design until reaching complete coverage. Remove the stencil and repeat this process until the fabric is entirely coated in the floral pattern. Once the fabric is entirely coated in the stencil design, peel the backing off the styrene roll and press it to the back of the fabric. Firmly press the adhesive backing to the fabric. Use a pair of scissors to cut about a 1 inch margin of fabric around the styrene backing. Use the tacky lampshade glue that comes with the I like that lamp kit along then ends of the fabric. Spread the glue out along the ends with one of the wooden dowels in the kit. Fold over the fabric material and press it firmly down onto the styrene. Do this for both ends. Fold the ends of the lampshade over onto itself and use a binder clip as the lampshade begins to take shape. Use the tacky lampshade in the middle of the lampshade where the folds meet. Spread the glue out with the dowel and clip the lampshades together while the glue dries. Add the wiring to the lampshade and use the binder clips to hold it in position. Use the tacky lampshade glue beneath the fold of the lampshade and spread it out using the wooden dowel. Shift the binder clip over so that it holds the drying glue of the lampshade in position over the lampshade wiring. In any areas where the ring of the wiring meets the central wiring use a pair of scissors to clip the fabric to fold down. Once the glue dries remove the binder clips that hold the lampshade wiring in place. Your lampshade is complete! All you need to do now is put your lampshade onto a lamp.
