@How To Condition This SUMMER | Position Specific Conditioning Summer Football Training
Over the past 14 years I've ran or been apart of every conditioning test you can think of. 300 yd shuttles, Full Gassers, Half gassers, -110’s, you name it I've not only put the cleats on and ran the tests myself but lead numerous teams through the strain. 😀 πŸ’₯ This year I implemented a Football Position Specific Conditioning Test taking form Terry Joria Elitefts article. === A Group: WR, DB, TB, QB 50 Yards (25+25) :08 Rest: 35 B Group: TE, FB, LB, DE, SPEC 40 Yards (20+20) :07 Rest: 30 C Group: OL, DL, NT 30 Yards (15+15) :06 Rest: 25 **A position coach or player was placed to lead each position group and track start and stop time. 1st 3 weeks a coach lead the groups. Last 3 weeks players lead their position group.** ==== I can't fully report results because this team reports for camp next week. After next week and 2 weeks of camp I'll check back in to update if the test was challenge enough to show who was ready for camp and if any soft tissue injuries occurred. The 6 week build up period was challenging enough and led to zero soft tissue injuries while implementing πŸ’ͺ. Coach Cano P.S. If you are still searching the internet for a program to take your team / athlete to the next level but don’t want to bust your budget.. - Check out our πŸ†• 8 Week Summer program here: https://oneightyathletics.com/elitesummer80-off πŸ”‘ FEW Basic NOTES about "conditioning": All conditioning phases are based on the interval training principle. Periods of work followed by a period of rest and recovery. Some work outs are longer and more general, while most of the work outs are short and intense. Shorter distance intervals entail a greater volume of runs, a relatively faster speed, and a higher work to rest ratio. Longer distance intervals involve fewer runs, a relatively slower speed, and a lower work to rest ratio.
