Conocido también como "QHAP'IYA", "Khapiya" o "Khapía" que en aymara significa "Aquel hueco" se ubica al frente de Yunguyo, en medio de una llanura se levanta como capricho geológico el colosal volcán apagado de agua, casi como un guardián que aún hoy vela por la antigüedad de Yunguyo. Para los pobladores de la región, el cerro tiene un carácter sagrado y mágico, además de formar parte de muchos relatos míticos que engrandecen y fortifican más su imponente presencia.
