I found this fascinating! I came across this clip from the history channel. I've watched this clip a dozen times already! Amazing! Who can deny that God wasn't involved in helping America stay a free nation? I was awe struck with both the valor of those men who came through for the defense of America to the Hand of God... in its preservation. It's almost like... (no it is like) GOD was involved in helping to preserve this country to set the stage for future things to follow! It made me think of the time when the Lord helped the men who marched in Zion's camp. It reminded me of when that band of men who followed Joseph Smith to Missouri met up with armed forces and the Lord caused a storm to discourage the soldiers from fighting against the Mormons. I have to admit I thought I knew my history and about the war of 1812 however I did not know about this... During the War of 1812, and actually in 1814, the Nations capital was overrun by British Troops... but then, all of the Sudden, an act of God stopped their march and caused them to fall back. Some suggest it was coincidence. I simply suggest it was providence which kept those folks alive!
