panuworld's video: FinLine2010 Nokkospohja 76 km h on Inline Skates reconstruction

@#FinLine2010 Nokkospohja 76 km/h on Inline Skates (reconstruction)
A group of six amateur inline skaters reached top speed of 76 km/h on the FinLine 2010 skating event in Nokkospohja, Jyväskylä (former Korpilahti municipality area). The skaters (Panu, Tapsa, Ellu, Heikki, Jouni K. and Jouni M.) were preparing themselves for skating down Vaarunvuoret downhill with 100-meter vertical drop at the end of the day, so this "only-50-meter" Nokkosenmäki downhill was not really noted beforehand. Nokkosenmäki downhill facts: • Downhill length: 1.5 km • Total drop: 58 m • Average gradient: 3.7 % (steepest section 7.8 %) Full-day elevation profile: http://panuworld.net/inline/profiles/data/FinLine_2010,_Day_2,_Kuortti_-_Korpilahti.png As usual on the FinLine skating event, this semi-accidental speed record was skated on a public road with live (but low) traffic. Skaters were expecting a "regular" 50+ km/h downhill, similar to the ones they had already skated down earlier on the same day. Typically FinLine is skated — inline with the Finnish law — on the left-hand side of the road, where skaters have the best view to any approaching vehicles. However, because of the curves and expected speed, it was decided to enjoy this downhill on the right-hand side. However, no-one could expect what the speed finally would be! This video is reconstructed to show the downhill from the group leader's (Panu) point of view. It has been shot at the location in July 2019 from a car. It has been slowed down dynamically (actually even sped up for the highest speed moment) to match the actual speed and distance data stored during skating nine years earlier. The original measurements recorded with Panu's InMile™ skate-wheel-based measurement system are displayed on the top of the video for your reference. Confirming top speed (76.6 km/h) was also recorded using a GPS-based Suunto watch by Tapsa. The sound track contains Panu's comments (in Finnish, English subtitles available) when seeing this record-breaking location again nine years later.
