On September 9, 1968, Los Angeles Policeman Gary Murakami was shot and killed while answering a radio call. Gary was killed on his second day from graduating from the Los Angeles Police Academy. On November 13, 2018, a 50th Year Memorial Ceremony for Officer Murakami was held. The Los Angeles Police Honor Guard presented the colors at the beginning of the memorial. Los Angeles Police Officer Roz Curry sang the National Anthem. LA Police Officer Brian Murakami, the grand son of Gary Murakami, was in attendance at the memorial. Gary, you are not forgotten.
