Abraham Lincoln saw this coming so he contacted Szar Alexander II of Russia and asked for his assisstance the Szar agreed so Alexander sent part of his navy to anchor off the shore of New York City, and part to anchor off the Gulf of Mexico and part to anchor off the coast of California. Abraham Lincoln notified the British, French, and Spanish and warned them that if they crossed the border into the United States that Russia would take the side of the North and do battle with all those nations. This diverted their plan and kept those nations at bay from crossing the border into U.S. territory.
