rbhArts's video: Biophilic art and design by BAT Studio for the Royal Brompton Diagnostic Centre

Between Art and Technology Studio’s (BAT Studio) spaces for the Royal Brompton Diagnostic Centre aim to challenge the anonymity of most healthcare interiors. Anonymity can lead to medical environments being instantly recognisable and so the perceptions, memories and expectations of patients are guided. To move away from this, BAT Studio have worked closely with the clinical team to create exceptional interiors suitable for healthcare, redesigning the waiting area, reception desks and even water coolers. Digital design and traditional trades are combined to explore ideas inspired by the site and the local context. The intention is to create a sense of place and identity. Warm spaces with character, soft natural materials and organic motifs.
