RealisticArt by Ross Barbera's video: How to Construct Beautiful Aegean Style Cufflinks

@How to Construct Beautiful Aegean Style Cufflinks
Visit http://www.watercolorjewelry.com to learn more about my jewelry creations. In this video, "How to Construct Beautiful Aegean Style Cufflinks," I demonstrate how to make these cufflinks in easy to follow, step by step instructions. Similar to the link that I demonstrate in my video entitled "The Square Style Geometric Greek Link," the cufflinks were also inspired by ancient art. For the cufflinks I drew inspiration from Minoan and Mycenaean pottery which are decorated with linear abstractions based on observations made from nature. The original Minoan and Mycenaean designs are curvilinear instead of square, and are characterized by spirals composed of concentric circular shapes. These ancient designs represent abstractions that evolved from much more realistic Minoan and Mycenaean depictions of sea life. Each individual cufflink is made from one continuous, nine inch length of 16 gauge wire. The forming technique used to create the spiraling, concentric circles relies on exact measurements and very careful attention to detail. I provide tips in the video that assure the consistent accuracy of all measurements. The construction of these cufflinks requires the use of a variety of jewelry pliers. They include round nose pliers, bent nose pliers, chain nose pliers, and side cutters. I also use a chasing hammer to work harden the wire by carefully hammering the cufflinks on a steel block. One final note, the jewelry objects that you see created in my videos are original designs by me, Ross Barbera. These designs may be copied for your personal use only, but may not be offered for sale or exhibition without written permission from Ross Barbera.
