It is a small island accessible by ferry from Amsterdam. Since Amsterdam is technically below sea level, a levee is needed to get to and from the island. Once we arrived, we were greeted with lanterns and led to barracks refurbished to be a gorgeous restaurant. After a dinner of locally sourced Dutch-influenced cuisine, we were ferried back to Amsterdam! It was so cozy and fun and I wanted to share it with you! If you are thinking of coming to Amsterdam, I absolutely recommend this dinner excursion! The patrons are also mostly Dutch, so you can meet some locals and have an experience that is off the beaten path!
