ripperkon's video: Night Vision - CLIMBING AT NIGHT

I wanted to try this out for a long time. After I posted my first Reel about climbing with a night vision device, people already commented about a mission in Call of Duty. But the mission was at daylight. So now how about climbing at night? Doing room clearing and fast roping with night vision goggles has become a standard for SF and SOF. And modern nods like the binocular DTNVS allow a good depth perception for a lot of things. So now lets try rappelling and climbing on rock and ice. At first I tried rappelling. When setting up the anchor and the rappel device, you need to focus on these things. So all objects in the distance will be not in focus. Then abseiling, I have set the focus on my feet. Then worked quite well. To find the right route to rappel, it can be useful to focus one tube to a further distance. For climbing I at first tried ice climbing before I moved on rock. But for the video I switched the order, since I had more video material from the climbing on rock. There we used a small camera, that was directly mounted behind the night vision goggles. For climbing it is a good idea to focus at least one tube at the hands. On ice it was actually easier, since the focus for the tip of the ice tools is almost the same as the focus on the toes. For filming I also used a digital night vision device from OneLeaf as well as a Pulsar Thermal Device.
