Hobart Lewis (Hobe Lewis) December 10, 1972 -- 6:06 PM 034-033 White House Telephone President Richard Nixon chats with his friend Hobart P. (Hobe) Lewis about Lewis' recent trip to Moscow. Lewis refers to Moscow as "a prison." Nixon agrees and notes that seeing the gloom of Moscow "makes you love this country." He also notes that the women in Moscow ("babes") do not even wear nice stockings. Nixon asks Lewis how the Reader's Digest is doing (Lewis was the Digest's editor), and he suggests that his son-in-law David Eisenhower might like a job as a writer at the magazine after he leaves the Navy. Nixon suggests that Hobe and their friends Bebe Rebozo and Bob Abplanalp get together over a weekend soon.
