A village in Haryana state - which has one of the lowest ratios - held a 'selfie' contest to raise consciousness. The competition organised by village leaders in Bibipur, Haryana attracted nearly 800 entries from all over the country. Inspired by this, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asked the public to join in and share pictures taken with their daughters. Thousands are now posting selfies online with messages about why their daughters are their pride and joy.
