Surfacing around 2011 with ‘The Circle Stops Somewhere’, A Sagittariun has over the last 3 years released a string of fantastic 12’s on his label Elastic Dreams combining classic Detroit, breakbeat and techno sounds to form a classy hybrid. This culminated in 2013’s ‘Dream Ritual’ LP that was rewarded a solid 4/5 on Resident Advisor. secretsundaze’s Giles and James were both big supporters of his sound from the very beginning and a friendship was formed. This is A Sagittariun’s first full EP outside of his own Elastic Dreams imprint. Lead a side track ‘Quartz’ hits the ground running. Just shy of 10 minutes long, its pacey, mechanical, stomping groove with lashing of atmosphere come on strong like a long lost Model 500 or Los Hermanos track. This has been fully road tested by Giles Smith and James Priestley all summer and has been a firm highlight in their sets. ‘Landing Pad’ is a shimmering techno track that combines energy and soul while closing track ‘Different Planet’ has a warm, blissed out ambient backbone before a killer breakbeat is dropped half way through. So another exceptional EP from A Sagittariun and another feather in the cap of secretsundaze’s ever evolving repertoire.
