2005 the early days of exploration in Suffolk & Cambridgeshire of the ancestors scattered around various villages and towns.The first ever family tree research trip to the area--a year later we moved to Suffolk for 6 months to carry out intensive and extensive research visiting churches and cemeteries, record offices and archives--doing the footwork to help verification.An exciting time discovering the ancestors back 500 years and further...Yes a wealth and plethora of information and data was gathered and later saved and shared to discs, folders, clouds all over the World---And Westley Waterless was one of the first ports of call along with many surrounding villages like Burrough Green, Brinkley, Stetchworth, Dullingham, Burwell, Newmarket, Exning, Clare, Dalham and many more places taking the research much further afield across oceans and seas as the ancestors became more mobile........The tape recordings were very basic back in the early days but captured a wealth of vital info which 18 years on to 2024 still important and useful as further information surfaces...Graves stones often disappear which are vital records--- although many cemeteries are now digitalized these days and the parish records a great resource....This Audio pod is just one, a snippet of many that I have created during 2005-2010.Later I used Sony cameras and recording equipment--I have today in 2024 many many videos of my family tree visits to all sorts of places and all over the UK----I once travelled all over in my campervan visiting towns, cities, villages and remote places like Iona, Mull, Lindisfarne in search of the ancestors-----a very rewarding time visiting castle, cathedrals as well all in search of the ancestors. Also over the past 10 years DNA has assisted the process of discovery as well with all sorts of like minded people also searching, leaving messages and sharing......
