This small local wood was just right today--I try to do at least one big hike a week on the Mendip Hills or Quantock Hills and then several smaller walks more local.When I had my own transport and when the buses and trains were reliable I could go much further afield and really hope to do so again asap....So much to see and do--sometimes almost an urgency as time passes by so fast. I have my family tree research which is all over the UK and fortunately I have covered a lot of ground over the years but wheels are need for the really remote places that have no trains or buses.Places that are on the FT list---but once again much can be researched virtually online....but I do like wandering and exploring and verifying for myself--- The big cities are ok without wheels especially London and I am due another weeks stay up there to visit the archives, the cemeteries, record offices and libraries---Anyway a big hike is due soon while the weather lasts
