A Re-Visit---and new discoveries this time----the vegetation has receded quite a lot now that the Autumn has arrived -- hence I was able to spot a large dark hole in the edge of the wood---a cave entrance with a long tunnel----I nearly walked straight past but fortunately I was looking towards the wood looking for the Tower higher up on top of the wood--Now this tunnel entrance lines up with the Tower---so I reckon it may well be a hidden entrance ----Remember Druids have a temple near by and then there are the large caves also here where many bones of Prehistoric animals were discovered by a local man called William Beard a few 100 years ago---so this Wood is full of history and mystery---it was very dry in the tunnel and a good place to shelter---I did not have a torch so could only explore so far but I reckon it goes towards the Tower and possibly the other caves----it was a bit spooky and I was wondering if some fierce animal might be living further down into the darkness----I will try and find out more about it.....Before I made this discovery I was continuing my walk across old maize fields to avoid a large herd of cattle before reaching the track skirting the wood---a beautiful day--peace....
