I spend quite some time scanning many graves at the Sturminster Newton Town Cemetery--which by pure chance I found while stopping at a car sales garage nearby and I happened to glance over and spotted the cemetery---much to my delight...Quite a large cemetery with the names Rideout appearing often and Rideout does appear in the Dorset family tree of D&A.A 5th great Grandmother of the girls was a Rose Rideout 1776-1860 and her father was a Thomas Rideout 1730-1786--these are located within the family tree at Compton Abbas.But the Rideout name was widespread as well and found in many churchyards during my family tree trip to Dorset in 2008...It must also be emphasized that besides doing the foot work by visiting churches, cemeteries , villages, cities and towns I also visit record offices, the archives, libraries and good Online databases to search and verify the ancestors..All sorts of records are available in the research process like Wills, directories, taxes, land records, births, marriages and deaths, school records, job and profession records and military records and much much more-------In the UK we were extremely good at keeping records for all sorts of reasons and this goes all the way back to the Doomsday Book where every chicken, pig, cow and sheep were recorded as well as every man, woman and child.Wills are particularly valuable for identification of family and I possess such Wills saved in my tree and for my children and grandchildren---saved and shared for posterity.. The cemetery at Sturminster Newton was well cared for and placed and my scanning will be of use now and as more familky are discovered and located
