Ratha Saptami was celebrated today on February 16, 2024. The Ubhaya Jagadgurus graced the Sri Narasimha Bharati Yagashala opposite the temple of Sri Sharadamba. Initially Purnahuti of saura Homa took place and a special puja was performed to Lord Sri Surya-Narayana swami seated in a Sandalwood Ratha, which was pulled later in the divine presence of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji and Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji In the afternoon, Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam performed special puja to Lord Sri Suryanarayana swami at the temple in Elmagge. Phala-Panchamruta Abhisheka was performed to the sonorous chanting of Vedic mantras by the Pandits of the Math. Following the abhisheka the Maha-Saura-Sukta of the Rigveda was also recited. The puja concluded with the Maha-Mangala-Niraajana late in the noon.
