জামায়াতে ইসলামীর ডাকা ৪৮ ঘণ্টা হরতালের প্রথম দিনে আজ রোববার বগুড়া, রাজশাহী, গাজীপুর, জয়পুরহাট ও ঝিনাইদহে রক্তক্ষয়ী সংঘর্ষ হয়েছে। এতে পুলিশ, শিশুসহ ১৬ জন নিহত হওয়ার খবর পাওয়া গেছে। গতকাল শনিবার রাত থেকেই জেলায় গুজব রটে—একাত্তরের মানবতাবিরোধী অপরাধের দায়ে ফাঁসির দণ্ডাদেশ পাওয়া জামায়াতের নেতা দেলাওয়ার হোসাইন সাঈদীর চেহারা চাঁদে দেখা যাবে। রাত তিনটার দিকে জেলা শহরের বিভিন্ন মসজিদ থেকে মাইকিং করে সবাইকে বের হয়ে তা দেখার জন্য আহ্বান জানানো হয়। এভাবে জড়ো হয়ে জামায়াত-শিবিরের কর্মীরা ভোর থেকেই মিছিল শুরু করে শহরের বিভিন্ন এলাকায় ভাঙচুর চালাতে থাকেন।
