shogoz's video: How to Overclock your PC GPU Nvidia AMD Safely to Boost Performance using MSI Afterburner

@How to Overclock your PC GPU Nvidia & AMD Safely to Boost Performance using MSI Afterburner
This MSI Afterburner tutorial shows you how to overclock your PC GPU (Nvidia & AMD) safely to boost performance in all games. This overclocking beginners guide will cover the basics you’ll need to achieve the best GPU overclock. Benchmarks will also be shown to demonstrate the GPU overclocking performance gain you can expect. An overclocking comparison will be made between overclocking your graphics card manually & automatically as well as the benefits. If you want to automatically overclock your GPU, I give you a short MSI Afterburner OC (Overclock Scanner) tutorial. If you’d like a Nvidia performance tuning guide using the Nvidia performance overlay, or a tutorial on how to undervolt your gpu, let me know! Could also make a guide on how to overclock your CPU & RAM safely. Have fun overclocking your Asus, Nvidia, MSI, AMD, Gigabyte, EVGA, ZOTAC, PNY, Sapphire, XFX (etc) GPUs and I hope you enjoy the video! MSI Afterburner Overclocking tools provide easy and precise access to your GPU settings. While increasing your GPU’s clock frequency and voltage settings, the fan speed control will enable you to find the perfect balance between performance and temperature. MSI Afterburner sliders - The Core Voltage slider displays the current master GPU core voltage. Depending on your graphics card mode, the voltage can be represented either explicitly or as an offset added to base voltage. - The voltage control is locked by default due to safety reasons for example, if you’ve unlocked voltage control in the bios when overclocking your CPU. When GPU settings synchronization mode is enabled in advanced properties, any changes apply to the master GPU are also applied to all similar GPUs installed on your system. Voltage control is only available on limited sets of graphics card models. If Afterburner doesn’t allow you to unlock voltage control or unlock voltage monitoring, this probably means your GPUs voltage cannot be regulated by this function. Do NOT tick force constant voltage. - The Power Limit slider displays the GPU’s power limit. When GPU synchronization mode is enabled, any changes applied to the master GPU are also mirrored to all similar GPUs installed on the system. - The Temperature (Temp.) Limit slider is linked to the Power Limit slider. - The Core Clock (MHz) Slider displays the current master GPU core clock. Depending on your graphics card model, the clock can be represented either explicitly or as an offset added to base clock. Please remember the minimum allowed shader to core clock ratio is limited by hardware. - The Fan Speed slider allows you to either manually or automatically control the GPUs fan speed. - If the apply settings at Windows Startup button If enabled, it will apply the current core voltage, power limit, temp limit, core clock, memory clock and fan control settings when Windows starts. MSI OC Scanner / overclocking scanner test and scan features 1. Move the sliders for Core Voltage, Power Limit and Temp Limit all the way to the right. Click 'settings' and adjust your fan curve as directed in this video. 2. Start the OC Scanner by clicking on the button left of the “Core Clock (MHz)” text as highlighted below to open the Voltage/Frequency Curve window. 3. Scanning is the actual process described above where the algorithm will determine the highest stable frequency on 4 different voltage levels. This process should take around 15 minutes before presenting you with its conclusions. The value of the Core Clock in Afterburner should now show “Curve” instead of a number. 4. After running the Scanner, it's recommended to run the Test option. The Test script will verify the stability of the profile generated by the OC Scanner and provide the results in a ‘confidence level’. Personally I haven't see any other number than 90%. 5. Apply the OC Scanner values by clicking the Apply button in Afterburner. You can save the values in a profile as well, in case you want to switch between default values and your OC profile. You can do this by clicking on the Save Icon on the bottom right of Afterburner. The numbers on the left of the icon will start to flash to indicate that you can choose which number you would like to save this profile under. Once you choose a number by clicking on it, that button will become an active profile. This means you can easily switch back to default values by clicking the reset button, but also load up your OC profile by clicking on the profile number and then Apply. Congratulations, you have just overclocked your graphics card!
