Our Mom, a classic beauty of elegance, grace and beauty hails from Saigon, Vietnam. It must have been a defining moment in her life when she left behind home and family, a comfort zone where she would have had many admirers, wealth and a different life otherwise to come all the way to Singapore to take up Theology and thereafter for a selfless life of a chaplain, marrying my dad a pastor turned literature evangelist for God. Her faithfulness in the Lord and her dependence on God is a legacy to all of us. Mom is a pillar of strength and the picture of her kneeling by the window frame on her bed is vivid in my mind. It is her prayers that has not only sustained and protected us through our darkest moments in life but brought showers of blessings for all of us. God has honoured her nightly prayers as she brought us up in the fear of the Lord. Yes, she has renounced a secular life for God but in turn this promise in Duet 28:2 "And all these blessings shall come upon you and OVERTAKE you." has been evident in her life even to many generations of us children down to grand and great grand children. Yes mom has fought the good fight of faith, and have finished the race and there remains this promised of eternal life waiting for her. Mommy, do rest in the Lord for we will see you again for in a twinkling of the eye we shall all be changed when Jesus comes again! 1 Cor 15:52 I Timothy 6:12 NKJV
