Taken from a recording of Phoenix Festival highlights on 12/12/96. This was an LP mode recording and some bits are better than others; this is one of the latter unfortunately. We have: 0:00 Carling Premier. Quite elaborate drought-themed ad, music is the Mamas & Papa's "California Dreamin'" 0:51 Boots "Feel Better This Winter." Looking back at this in the midst of a pandemic these seem like gentler times, quite frankly. Music is The Hollies' "I'm Alive." 1:31 "The Dogs" compilation. This was the third time this ad was shown during this one program alone! Must say it's like a checklist of some of my favourite bands though. 2:02 WH Smith Xmas gifts ad. With Nicholas Lyndhurst in *three* different roles in this, courtesy of some TV magic. Well, it probably seemed magic back then.
