Questa versione tradisce un po' lo spirito originario della canzone di Boris Vian ( si dice che dopo averla sentita così edulcorata Jean Ferrat e Mouloudji si arrabbiarono alquanto... ); di buono c'è che Richard contribuì a farla "tornare" in Francia, dopo che Peter, Paul & Mary l'avevano riportata in auge nel 1966 ( la canzone venne eseguita per la prima volta nel 1954 su Radio Europe 1 da Mouloudji ) per schierarsi contro la guerra in Vietnam.
