I felt like doing another one of these, YouTube 101's because well why not, this one is how to improve your audience retention by using Pattern Breaks, now, what are they and why do we need them? What tends to happen depending on how long your videos are is that people could be watching your videos and they get into it and watch it but don't take it in, they get bored and can leave, by using pattern breaks we can shake people's attention up and keep them watching for longer and hopefully more engaged. To do a Pattern Break all you need to do is change the pace of a vlog, either by using clips you've recorded yourself or by using small clips of movies/tv shows/memes. It's a basic tactic but one that is used by some of the top YouTubers out there. Be careful using movie clips as the break as you could find yourself in a copyright tussle with some companies because of the Content ID system.
