Brand New model from Michael Messer Demo of the guitar I just got this week. Fiddle-Edge Dobro faithful reproduction. Unlike all metal-bodied Nationals, Dobros and modern reproductions, where the front & back of the guitar bodies are silver-soldered to the sides of the guitar, THIS guitar copies the unusual and never-before copied "Fiddle-Edge" method of connecting the front & back of the guitar bodies to the sides by mechanically rolling the edges of the top & bottom over the edges of the sides, to hold everything together. Turns out, it was quite difficult to do without squashing out of shape the front, back or sides while rolling the edges together - and making a right mess of everything. And yet, Michael Messer managed it, pushing his chosen workshop to experiment on & on, until they got it right. The original National/Dobro factory managed it - somehow, so it HAD to be possible to do it again ! Inside, there is a Dobro style resonator cone with off-set spider, just like the originals.
