Päijätsalo Observation Tower is located in the Päijänne National Park. It was built in the 1800s and I was lucky enough to capture it in VR before it was to be renovated. The park is located about 7km (4 miles) from the town of Sysmä. It is a relatively easy hike to the tower from the dedicated (free) parking area. The trail is classified as intermediate. The first thing you notice is just how incredibly quiet it is. In fact, my microphones had trouble picking up any sounds at all. The views from the top are incredibly impressive.
