Located north of Dali Old Town in Yunnan, the Three Pagodas date back to the Kingdom of Nanzhao and Kingdom of Dali in the 9th and 10th centuries. At 69.6m (227 feet), the middle pagoda is one the tallest ever in China. The other two towers were built about a hundred years after the first one. One of them is leaning. The pagodas have survived many events and have been repaired several times since then. There is reflection pond nearby with an incredible view of the pagodas, featuring picture perfect reflections. The Chongsheng Temple area is massive. There is temple after temple as well as numerous staircases and statues. It takes a while to reach the top. On your way up you’ll see the biggest bell in Yunnan - Nanzhao Jianji Bell from 871.
